PAKISTAN: Fifteen civilians lost their lives, and many others were injured in new fighting along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Tensions have increased between the two countries since last week’s explosions in Afghanistan, including two that happened in Kabul, which were blamed on Pakistan. In response, the Taliban government started an offensive in areas near its southern border, leading Islamabad to promise a strong reaction of its own.
- Lord, we pray for the healing of those injured and for comfort for the families who have lost loved ones amidst the violence. May God’s peace surround and protect those affected by the conflict (The Holy Bible, Acts 3:19).
- Lord, we pray for the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan to seek peaceful solutions and to pursue justice without escalating violence. May they be guided by wisdom and compassion in their decisions (The Holy Bible, Luke 23:34).
