Benin, formerly the Kingdom of Dahomey, is a West African nation that experienced monarchy, colonization under France, and independence in 1960. Its culture is renowned for art, music, and dance. However, it is also the birthplace of Vodun (voodoo), which still holds a strong influence today. Christianity entered Benin through Portuguese Catholic missionaries in the 16th century.

Yet, today, Christian teenagers in Benin face challenges of poor education infrastructure, family pressure to honor traditional religion, and limited opportunities due to systemic government corruption. The Church in Benin faces challenges from Vodun, rising secular influences, and a lack of strong discipleship that leaves youth vulnerable.
