Many young people in Afghanistan are ending their lives because of serious problems like drug addiction, unemployment, and family violence. Life is very hard for them, and they feel hopeless. Some, like Abdul Haq from Nangarhar, suffer from mental illness and addiction. His family tried to help him, but he could not escape his pain. Others, like young couples in Paktika, take their lives because they cannot afford marriage costs like dowry. Economic problems and emotional pressure are pushing many youths to this painful decision. In 2024, there were 72 suicide cases in Khost province alone. Religious scholars say suicide is not allowed in Islam and warn of punishment. Doctors say that mental health support and education are very important. They believe that teaching young people how to deal with problems can save lives. More help, care, and awareness are needed to protect youth and give them hope for a better future.
GOD of all comfort and hope, bless the people of Afghanistan, especially the youth, with hope and a bright future. Deliver them from their addictions, mental illness, hopelessness, and other evil things that are haunting them. In Jesus’s Name, we pray. Amen (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).
Almighty GOD, the One who makes a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, do a new thing in the nation of Afghanistan. Bless the Afghan youth with new jobs, new opportunities, and new life in You. In Jesus’s Name, we pray. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 43:19).
