The conflict between Yemen’s Houthi group and Israel is tense and dangerous. The Houthis, led by Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, say they will continue attacking Israel because they want to stop what they call Israel’s harmful actions in the Gaza Strip. Recently, Israel’s Defense Minister warned Yemen, saying Yemen could face strong military action like what happened to Iran in June during a 12-day conflict with Israel. Israel and Iran fought a brief but deadly war in June, which ended with a ceasefire. The Houthis say Israel has attacked Yemen many times before with airstrikes and naval attacks, but these attacks did not stop them. Instead, the Houthis say these attacks only made them more determined to fight. The situation is very risky because both sides have strong threats. The Houthis want to keep resisting Israel, while Israel warns of tough actions against them. This ongoing tension makes peace in the region very hard to achieve.
Pray for the authorities of Houthis and Israel to find a common ground to put an end to the conflict between them. Pray for peace between Yemen and Israel (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 16:7).
