WEST BANK: In the village of Susiya, located in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Palestinians believed their situation couldn’t get any worse as Jewish settlers attacked them repeatedly and destroyed their beloved olive trees. Then, armed settlers began to target their water sources. The people of Susiya accuse these Israeli settlers of cutting water pipes and electricity lines, destroying their olive trees, and stopping them from taking care of their sheep. Palestinian authorities, who have limited control over certain areas of the West Bank, claim that the settlers are attempting to push Palestinians off their land to take it for themselves. Encouraged by some far-right Israeli government officials who want to annex the West Bank, these settlers have harmed Palestinian farmers, cut down trees, and burned valuable olive groves.

  • Lord, we pray for the safety and well-being of the villagers in Susiya, that they may be protected from violence and oppression. Pray for the restoration of their lands, particularly the olive trees that are vital to their livelihood (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:9).
  • Lord, we pray for peace between all communities in the region, that hearts may be softened, and understanding may replace conflict. Ask for wisdom for all leaders involved to seek justice and work towards a fair resolution for all people (The Holy Bible, Acts 3:19).
