Typhoon Kajiki struck northern and central Vietnam with peak winds of 130 km/h and heavy rainfall, leaving widespread destruction. Three were killed, 13 were injured, and almost 7,000 houses were damaged. Hanoi and other places experienced flooding, turning roads into rivers, restricting traffic, and submerging vehicles. The storm knocked down trees, brought down power lines, and left more than 1.6 million people without electricity. Government officials evacuated approximately 44,000 individuals and deployed the army for relief and rescue. Kajiki dissipated while crossing into Laos, but brought serious flooding and landslide threats. The typhoon piled on a tough year for Vietnam, with more than 100 individuals dead or missing due to natural disasters through 2025. UNICEF cautioned that successive storms are increasing hazards for children, destroying shelters and schools. Researchers attribute the surge in intense storms to climate change, which results in more severe and unstable weather conditions in the region.

Pray for the rescue and relief efforts to reach the victims of Typhoon in Vietnam at the right time. Pray for divine protection upon all the civilians, especially children, from natural calamities (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).

Pray for the LORD’s comfort for the families of the deceased victims in Vietnam. Pray for the LORD’s healing power upon all the injured victims (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 57:18).
