Türkiye’s textile industry is facing a major crisis due to rising costs and global competition. Production has dropped to around 50–60% of normal levels. Nearly 300,000 people have lost their jobs, and over 2,100 companies have shut down. High labor costs, expensive loans, and a strong currency have made it harder for Türkish companies to compete, leading to a big fall in exports. Many producers are moving their factories to countries like Egypt, where costs are lower. The situation is hurting one of Türkiye’s most important export sectors. Industry experts warn that without urgent government support, like cheaper loans, wage help for workers, and currency incentives, more factories could close. The industry says these steps are needed to stay competitive and protect jobs. Despite the challenges, some production continues, but overall, the sector is shrinking fast and needs help to survive.
Pray for the Türkish government to take immediate action to find a peaceful solution for the crisis in the country’s textile industry. Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to improve the sector and to protect the jobs (The Holy Bible, Psalm 22:11).
Pray for economic stability in Türkiye. Pray for the people who have lost their jobs due to the economic crisis in the Türkish textile industry. Pray for divine provision of new job opportunities and basic needs for all the victims (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:1-2).
