In July 2025, deadly clashes broke out between Thailand and Cambodia along their border, killing at least 43 people and displacing over 300,000. The violence began when a landmine injured Thai soldiers, sparking airstrikes and artillery attacks from both sides. Thailand used F-16 fighter jets, and Cambodia responded with BM-21 rocket launchers. It was the worst border conflict in over a decade. Each side blamed the other for civilian deaths and for using banned weapons. After strong pressure from the United States, a fragile ceasefire was agreed upon through talks in Malaysia, with help from China and ASEAN. However, trust is still low. Cambodia says Thailand broke the deal by entering disputed areas. Thailand says Cambodia is increasing troop presence. Both countries have expelled ambassadors and sealed border crossings. Malaysia is leading peace efforts, but people in the region remain afraid that fighting may start again.
Pray for the authorities to take immediate action to defend the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia. Pray for friendly and peaceful relations between the two countries (The Holy Bible, Psalm 4:8).
Pray for the success of the peace talks between Thailand and Cambodia. Pray for the end of the chaotic situation on the Thailand-Cambodia border. Pray for divine protection upon all the innocent civilians living in the bordering cities. Pray for peace to prevail in the region (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 33:27).
