Thailand and Cambodia fought fierce border battles from 24–29 July 2025 over disputed territory and temples. After five days of clashes that killed at least 35–38 people and displaced over 300,000 civilians, leaders met in Malaysia’s Putrajaya (with U.S. and Chinese participation) and agreed on an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to begin at midnight on 28 July. However, Thailand’s army claimed Cambodia violated the ceasefire within hours, launching armed attacks at multiple Thai border locations. Thai forces responded with proportional self-defense actions. Cambodia denied the allegations, saying no clashes occurred post-ceasefire. Military commanders were scheduled to meet the next morning to reinforce the agreement. Despite the ceasefire restoring some calm, tension remained high along the 800 km border, with both sides accusing the other of bad-faith violations.

Pray for unity and wise counsel for all the authorities involved in the peace talks between Thailand and Cambodia to take action to end violence in the border areas. (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 20:22).

Pray for the governments of Thailand and Cambodia to abide by international laws and to uphold the ceasefire agreement between them. Pray for divine peace between the two nations. Pray for divine protection upon all the people living in the border areas of the two countries (The Holy Bible, Psalm 3:7).
