PAKISTAN: Even though there was a lot of destruction, the government did not offer financial help to families who were greatly impacted by the floods or to those who lost family members. They blamed a serious financial crisis and said there were no available funds. In 2025, Rawalpindi experienced some of the worst flooding in recent history. Heavy rains caused residential areas, shops, plazas, and markets to be covered with three to five feet of water, ruining goods worth millions of rupees. However, residents, traders, and shopkeepers received no compensation. Five people drowned during the floods, but their families also did not get any financial aid. This lack of support has made many citizens, victims, and business owners very angry at both the government and the administration.
