Pakistan: Authorities in Pakistan have apprehended the owners of a pet lion that attacked a woman and her two young children after it got loose. The woman and her children, aged five and seven, suffered injuries to their arms and faces but are currently in stable condition, according to officials. The police have charged the lion’s owners with keeping a wild animal without a permit and with negligence that allowed the lion to escape. The lion has since been recaptured and relocated to a wildlife park. Following the incident, officials in Punjab initiated a campaign against illegal wildlife ownership, resulting in the arrest of five individuals and the recovery of 13 lions.
- Lord, we pray for the woman and her children who were injured in the lion attack. We ask for Your healing touch upon their bodies and peace in their hearts as they recover from this traumatic experience. Surround them with Your protection and grant them safety in their daily lives (The Holy Bible, Psalm 4:8).
- Lord, we pray for the authorities in Punjab and all those involved in the campaign against illegal wildlife ownership. We pray for wisdom and strength in enforcing regulations that promote safety and conservation. May hearts be changed to value and respect Your creation, leading to a safer environment for both animals and people (The Holy Bible, Psalm 24:1).
