MYANMAR: Approximately 150 junta soldiers have been setting fire to villages in the Mandalay Region township. These villages are located near Chauk Township in the Magwe Region, separated by a small river and situated along the Bagan-Chauk road, about 16 kilometers from Bagan. This historic area is one of the few tourist spots that has remained accessible since the 2021 coup. Some villagers have returned to rebuild their huts, while others are staying with relatives in different locations. Constructing a home is challenging, and many of us have lost everything. They burned down all the villages they attacked to create fear. This is their tactic.

  • Lord, we pray for the safety and protection of the villagers affected by the violence. Ask for strength and hope in their efforts to rebuild their lives amidst fear and destruction (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
  • Lord, we pray for peace to prevail in the Mandalay Region and for healing for those who have experienced trauma and loss. May they find comfort and support in their communities and rebuild with resilience (The Holy Bible, Psalm 29:11).
