NEPAL: The farming industry is at a high risk of losing crops and facing unpredictable farm productivity because of decreasing rainfall. Other climate factors, like strong winds, along with insect invasions and diseases caused by climate change, are also causing issues. These uncertainties are likely to grow worse as weather conditions become more unpredictable for agriculture, which will require thorough adaptation strategies. Each year, nearly 800,000 young people leave the country for jobs or move to cities, leaving farmland neglected. To tackle the various challenges in agriculture, we need comprehensive solutions backed by national commitment and strong leadership.
- Lord, we pray for the farmers who are facing the challenges of decreasing rainfall and unpredictable weather conditions. May you provide them with the resources and knowledge needed to adapt and protect their crops during these uncertain times (The Holy Bible, Joel 1:10).
- Lord, we ask for a revival of interest among young people in agriculture and farming. Inspire them to invest in their communities and the land, and grant leaders the wisdom to implement effective agricultural strategies that ensure food security and sustainability (The Holy Bible, Ecclesiastes 11:9).
