Nepal: A total of 485 individuals trapped by the flooding in Bhote Koshi have been rescued. The flood, triggered by a glacial lake outburst at Tibet’s Lhende River, which flows into Bhote Koshi, has resulted in 14 Nepalese, 6 Chinese nationals, and 3 security personnel being reported missing. So far, four bodies have been recovered, along with five additional human remains. Only one body has been identified, while the others are currently held at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. The flood has also damaged the Nepal-China border bridge in Rasuwagadhi Rural Municipality-2, Gosaikunda, in the Rasuwa district, obstructing the road and causing power outages in the region.

  • Lord, we pray for the safe return of the 14 Nepalese, 6 Chinese nationals, and 3 security personnel who are missing. Comfort and strengthen their families during this difficult time (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:13).
  • Lord, we pray for the families of those who have lost loved ones and those who have been affected by the flooding. Heal and restore the community as they recover from the devastation (The Holy Bible, 1 Peter 5:7).
