In the last 24 hours, Bangladesh reported 134 new dengue cases, raising the total confirmed cases this year to 25,710. Fortunately, no new deaths occurred during this period, so the death toll remains at 104. According to the Directorate General of Health Services, the highest number of new cases came from Dhaka, where both Dhaka North and South City Corporations together reported 38 infections. Other divisions also recorded fresh cases: 32 in Barisal, 20 in Dhaka Division, 17 in Chittagong, 14 in Khulna, 9 in Rajshahi, and 4 in Mymensingh. Currently, 1,278 patients are admitted in hospitals nationwide. Last year, dengue was far more severe, claiming 575 lives. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further spread.
Abba Father, we bring before You the people of Bangladesh who are suffering from the spread of dengue and other illnesses. Stretch out Your healing hand, O Lord, and grant them quick recovery. We ask that You provide hospitals with enough resources, and bless the nation with clean water, good sanitation, and proper medical care for all (The Holy Bible, Exodus 15:26).
God of all comfort, strengthen the families of the 104 who have lost loved ones. Surround them with Your peace and hope. Rebuild broken communities, strengthen families, and renew the spirit of the people. May Your light shine over the nation, bringing healing and restoration (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 61:4).
