MYANMAR: In Myanmar, feelings against China are increasing because Beijing backs the military government and gets involved in the country’s issues. Norinco plays an important role by providing weapons and technology to Myanmar’s military, helping with both direct sales and local arms production. Technicians from Norinco assisted in the Magwe Region to help create anti-aircraft weapons for the military. The company also provided a tank simulator called MBT-2000 for a military training school in Kyaukse. Additionally, Beijing is urging armed groups near its border to cease their fighting against the regime.
