Algeria: This evening, the Algerian province of Mostaganem is hosting the Sahrawi Women’s Festival, themed “Memory, Identity, and Struggle.” The event is organized by the General Union of Free Students and supported by the Algerian National Observatory for Civil Society. Over the course of four days, the festival will include informational exhibitions, displays of traditional crafts, folkloric tents and performances, as well as workshops on women’s rights and human rights. Furthermore, there will be interactive sessions involving representatives from Algerian and Sahrawi civil society, concentrating on media and the role of civil society in nation-building.
- Lord, we pray that the women participating in the festival find strength and inspiration in their identity and struggles. May the event foster unity and a spirit of resilience among them as they share their stories and experiences (The Holy Bible, Philippians 4:13).
- Lord, we pray for peace and understanding among the attendees, including Algerian and Sahrawi representatives. May their discussions lead to fruitful partnerships that promote human rights and support for women’s rights in the region (The Holy Bible, John 14:27).
