Morocco’s unemployment rate slightly dropped to 12.8% in the second quarter of 2025 from 13.1% last year, but deeper problems remain. Urban areas led job growth, especially in construction, services, and industry, adding 114,000 jobs. Rural areas lost 107,000 jobs, mainly in agriculture, due to drought. While rural unemployment fell to 6.2%, this was mostly because people stopped looking for work or moved to cities. Women’s unemployment rose to 19.9%, and youth unemployment remains very high at 35.8% for ages 15–24. Underemployment increased to affect 1.15 million people. Regional gaps are large, some areas like the south and Oriental face over 20% unemployment, while others like Drâa-Tafilalet have lower rates. Casablanca-Settat, the biggest job market, still has high unemployment at 14.7%. Overall, Morocco’s job issues are not just about creating jobs but also about fair access and quality work, especially for youth, women, and rural populations.

Pray for the government to create more job opportunities in Morocco. Pray for equal economic opportunities for people in both urban and rural areas throughout the country (The Holy Bible, Exodus 23:3).

Pray for the Moroccan youth, especially youth and women from rural regions, to have access to more employment opportunities and growth. Pray for the LORD to bless them with hope and a bright future (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).
