Many Syrian families living in Türkiye are planning to return home this summer as the situation in Syria slowly improves. With the school year ending, more refugees see this as a good time to go back. Since the former Syrian leader left power in late 2024, over 273,000 Syrians have returned voluntarily, but around 2.7 million still live in Türkiye. The Turkish government offers a program that lets refugees visit Syria to check conditions before deciding. Some who visited found that shops and services are starting to open, though many homes need repairs. They hope to rebuild their lives by finding work and reopening businesses. Experts say most Syrians remain cautious because Syria still faces challenges like poor infrastructure, limited jobs, and a lack of schools and hospitals. It may take years before many refugees feel safe enough to return permanently.

Almighty GOD, You are the GOD of Restoration. We plead Your divine intervention in the desolate land of Syria. Breathe Your Life once again into this land and rebuild the lives and livelihoods of all the Syrians (The Holy Bible, Joel 2:25).

Pray for the LORD to bless the resources and financial support needed to rebuild the damaged infrastructure and to restore essential services in Syria. Pray for the LORD to strengthen the Syrians for this good work (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 28:12).
