Malaysia reported its first Covid-19 death of 2025 in the 24th week of the year. The person who died had serious health problems and had not taken a second booster shot. So far, the country has seen 21,738 Covid-19 cases this year. Last week, cases rose by 14%, reaching 3,379, but the Health Ministry says the situation is still under control. Six people with other health issues were admitted to ICU, but all have been moved out — four went home, and two are now in regular hospital wards. Covid-related deaths have dropped a lot compared to 2024, which saw 57 deaths.

Abba Father, we lift up the people of Malaysia to You, especially those affected by Covid-19. Cover the vulnerable with Your healing power, and protect every household from illness. May Your peace replace fear, and Your power bring restoration across the nation. Amen (The Bible, Jeremiah 17:14).

Lord, grant wisdom to Malaysia’s health authorities and leaders as they respond to the recent uptick in Covid-19 cases. Help communities stay alert yet calm, and empower citizens to care for one another with compassion. Amen (The Bible, Proverbs 2:6).
