In a major anti-vice operation named “Ops Gegar,” Malaysia’s Immigration Department raided three locations across the Klang Valley on July 9, resulting in 89 arrests, including foreign nationals and locals. The raids targeted premises in Kuchai, Sri Petaling, and Cheras, believed to be part of a prostitution syndicate. During the first raid, 26 foreign women from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar were arrested, along with six men, including two foreigners and four locals who acted as guardians of the premises. These venues operated as disguised budget hotels offering sexual services priced between RM160 and RM480, with transactions promoted online and arranged through messaging apps. Later that night, a second raid at an entertainment center resulted in 61 arrests, involving women from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar, along with men from Bangladesh and Thailand. Seven Malaysians were also issued notices to assist in investigations. Authorities are continuing efforts to dismantle human trafficking and illegal sex work operations across the region.

Abba Father, we lift up every person trapped in exploitation and trafficking. May Your light expose darkness and lead them to safety, healing, and restoration (The Bible, Psalm 9:9).

Lord, grant wisdom and integrity to all law enforcement officers handling these cases. May justice prevail, and may every perpetrator be held accountable (The Bible, Isaiah 1:17).
