Lebanon is facing a severe economic crisis in 2025, worsened by ongoing conflict and structural challenges. The war with Israel, which intensified in late 2024, has devastated key sectors. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) estimates that Lebanon’s GDP could shrink by 9.2% if hostilities persist, thereby compounding the country’s long-term vulnerabilities. Infrastructure damage is estimated at $6.8 billion, with economic losses reaching $7.2 billion, and recovery costs projected at $11 billion. The World Bank reports a 6.6% decline in GDP for 2024, bringing the cumulative decline since 2019 to nearly 40%. Key sectors, including agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing, have been severely impacted, with agriculture alone incurring $1.1 billion in losses. Additionally, over 1.3 million people have been displaced internally, which has strained public services and infrastructure. Despite these challenges, there are signs of potential recovery, including a projected 4.7% GDP growth in 2025, depending on political stability and reconstruction efforts.

Pray for political stability in Lebanon. Pray for the success of all the reconstruction efforts of the Lebanese government. Pray for improved infrastructure and public services in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 20:2).

Pray for the authorities to come up with more effective ideas to end the economic crisis in Lebanon. Pray for growth in the nation’s key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).

Pray for friendly and peaceful relations between Lebanon and its neighboring countries. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the Middle East region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 122:7).
