JAPAN: The governments of Japan and South Korea are close to finalizing a deal that would allow their defense ministers to visit each other and have regular talks between defense officials, according to The Yomiuri Shimbun. Defense Minister Gen Nakatani is thinking about traveling to South Korea early this month for discussions with his South Korean counterpart. Japanese government sources say both countries want to agree on increasing the number of exchanges between their people.

  • Lord, we pray that the meetings between the defense ministers will foster mutual understanding and trust between Japan and South Korea, leading to a lasting partnership in defense and security (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 2:4).
  • Lord, we pray that these discussions will promote peace in the region and that both nations will work together not only for their own security but also for the stability of their neighbors (The Holy Bible, Romans 14:19).
