On August 18, 2025, massive protests took place across Israel, led by families of hostages held in Gaza. They are demanding a deal to bring home the 20 hostages still believed to be alive. Many Israelis fear that a new military operation in crowded areas of Gaza could put the hostages in greater danger. Protesters blocked roads and gathered outside government offices. Some former military leaders also support a deal to end the war. Prime Minister Netanyahu, however, says the war must continue until Hamas is defeated to prevent future attacks. Meanwhile, Israel’s military continues to target Hamas, including airstrikes in Gaza and Yemen. The army says it acts to protect Israeli lives and respond to threats like rockets and drones. The situation is painful for many Israelis, who feel caught between protecting their country and saving the hostages. Calls for government action and international support are growing louder.
Pray for unity and oneness of mind between the government and the citizens of Israel to take action in saving the hostages and in protecting the country from evil-doers. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the nation and the Middle East region (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).
Pray for the immediate and safe return of all the remaining Israeli hostages. Pray for the authorities to take action to bring back the hostages safely and to end the war peacefully and quickly (The Holy Bible, 2 Chronicles 14:11).
