In April, the U.S. hit Yemen’s Ras Isa oil terminal with 14 airstrikes, killing 80 people, targeting Houthi militants who attacked ships in the Red Sea to support Palestinians in Gaza. Meanwhile, Somalia’s Al-Shabab militants were growing stronger, capturing towns near the capital despite Somali and U.S. attacks. Though the Houthis and Al-Shabab operate on opposite sides of the Gulf of Aden, they made a secret deal: Houthis supply weapons to Al-Shabab, and Al-Shabab’s pirates distract naval patrols to help smuggle arms to Yemen. This cooperation is primarily focused on resources, rather than ideology. The Houthis also work with other Somali groups. Their alliance helps the Houthis keep their weapons programs strong and expand attacks beyond Yemen. This growing partnership worries the U.S. and others because it poses a threat to regional security and global trade. The Houthis are no longer just an Iranian proxy but are connecting with global networks to survive and fight.

Pray against all the alliances between Houthis and Al-Shabab and other terrorist groups in the region. Pray for the LORD to cut off all the financial support between these evil networks (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:16).

Pray for the LORD’s intervention in the region to destroy all the extremist groups and their evil agenda against the innocent civilians and nations (The Holy Bible, Nehemiah 4:20).
