TIBET: Petr Pavel, the President of the Czech Republic, had a special meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He also met with Sikyong Penpa Tsering and other members of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). This visit was significant because it was the first time a foreign leader came to see the Dalai Lama. The gathering serves as a vital reminder of the long-standing friendship between the Czech Republic and Tibet. “President Pavel’s visit to His Holiness shows their shared dedication to human rights, self-determination, and justice for the Tibetan people and all those who face oppression around the world,” said Tencho Gyatso, President of the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT). “We sincerely appreciate the friendship from the Czech Republic and are thankful for President Pavel and other Czech leaders who have supported the Tibetan people for many years.”

  • Lord, we pray for continued support for human rights and self-determination for the Tibetan people, that leaders around the world, like President Pavel, may be inspired to advocate for justice and freedom for all oppressed communities (The Holy Bible, Psalm 82:3).
  • Lord, we pray for the Tibetan people, that they may find strength and resilience in their struggle for freedom and dignity, and that their voices may be heard globally (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:18).
