Mali’s officials reported that they arrested the French national on suspicion of being involved with French intelligence services and claimed that “foreign states” are attempting to disrupt the country. The ruling junta in Mali, which took control after two coups in 2020 and 2021, also mentioned that many soldiers have been detained for allegedly plotting to overthrow the government.
