In June, a video showed a 16-year-old girl being gang-raped in Juba, South Sudan, by young men from a rival gang. This caused great anger. The police arrested over 600 youths to stop gang violence, but many were later freed. Some families said innocent children were also taken and forced to join the army. Fighting in some parts of South Sudan has made the situation worse. Two former gang members, Peter and Alaak, now help young people leave gangs. They run a youth center and a football academy in Juba. Many kids join gangs because they are poor or have difficult family lives after years of war. The center gives support and a safe place, helping kids feel cared for and hopeful. Alaak’s football academy trains over 900 children. They believe love, community, and sports can help stop violence and give young people a better future.

Pray for the South Sudanese authorities to implement effective measures to provide proper education and employment opportunities for the young population in the country. Pray for the LORD to bless the young people in South Sudan with hope and a bright future (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).

Pray for the youth population in South Sudan. Pray that, like the arrows in the hands of a warrior, the young people in the nation, in the Hands of the Almighty GOD, are doing HIS Purpose (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).
