DJIBOUTI: The EU Ambassador to Djibouti, Ionete, visited the Italian Naval Unit ITS CAIO DUILIO, part of Operation ASPIDES. During her visit, the Force Commander provided a detailed briefing on the mission, explaining its goals, activities, and strategic significance. The ambassador also met with the international team that assists in the mission’s tactical command. Ambassador Ionete commended the professionalism and commitment of both the men and women serving on the crew. She emphasized the European Union’s strong support for Operation ASPIDES and highlighted its determination to actively enhance maritime security in the region. This visit highlights the European Union’s commitment to boosting international cooperation and ensuring a strong presence in an area vital for global security and safeguarding trade routes.
