Nepal: The importance of collaborative efforts among the three levels of government and other relevant organizations was emphasized in the fight against child labor, a significant issue in Nepal. It was suggested that child labor could be eliminated by creating an environment where children are not compelled to work and are provided with proper education. He emphasized that this issue can be addressed through collective action. In urban areas, many children are forced to work under various pretexts, and parents of these children must also be held accountable for their responsibilities. In Pokhara city alone, there are 1,147 child workers, including 323 girls, with approximately 650 of them employed in workshops, garages, and metal industries.
- Lord, we pray for unity among the three levels of government and all organizations involved in combating child labor in Nepal. May you guide them to work together effectively to create a safe environment where all children can enjoy their rights to education and a childhood free from exploitation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 133:1).
- Lord, we pray for the children affected by labor in urban areas, particularly in Pokhara City. We pray for their safety, protection, and access to proper education. We also ask that you touch the hearts of their parents, helping them to understand their responsibilities and the importance of prioritizing their children’s wellbeing (The Holy Bible, Matthew 19:14).
