A drone crashed at the Majnoon oilfield in the southern province of Basra on Tuesday evening, according to a security source. The origin of the drone remains unknown, and no deaths or material damage were reported. A video circulating online showed people at the site photographing the wreckage. The oilfield, located about 60 kilometers north of Basra, is one of the world’s richest oil reserves, holding an estimated 38 billion barrels of oil and playing a crucial role in Iraq’s energy sector. The incident comes amid rising regional tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have led to missile and drone strikes targeting facilities in Iraq. Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has urged all parties to respect Iraqi sovereignty and avoid using the country as a battleground for regional conflicts.

Abba Father, shield civilians and workers in vulnerable areas from harm and danger. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:8).

Lord, bring hope and stability to regions facing uncertainty and conflict, and guide them toward peace and cooperation. Amen (The Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 14:33).
