South Sudan is facing a serious humanitarian crisis caused by ongoing conflict, attacks on civilians, and political problems. More than half of the population, approximately 7.7 million people, are experiencing severe food shortages. At least 83,000 people are in extreme danger of starvation and death, especially in areas like Nasir and Ulang in Upper Nile State. Armed clashes and attacks by the government have destroyed hospitals and homes, while aid groups face difficulties reaching those in need due to restricted access. Aid drops by government-linked companies raise concerns about fairness. In Jonglei state, more fighting has ruined health services and markets. Donor funding is shrinking, forcing some health clinics to close. The situation is not just a humanitarian crisis but also a human rights issue, as starvation may be used as a weapon in war. The international community must act swiftly to fund aid, protect civilians, and halt attacks to prevent famine and save lives.
Pray for the international authorities to take immediate action to end the conflict in South Sudan. Pray for immediate and unrestricted access to aid for all the people in need in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 40:17).
Pray for the authorities to implement stringent measures to end the attacks on innocent civilians in South Sudan. Pray for divine protection for all the South Sudanese people, especially the residents of Upper Nile State (The Holy Bible, Psalm 62:8).
