TIBET: The report on human rights practices in Tibet reveals that serious abuses against the Tibetan people are still happening. These abuses include disappearances, torture, arbitrary arrests, and limits on religious freedom. However, this report is concerning because it lacks the detailed information found in previous years. Released on August 12, 2025, the report is significant for what it omits rather than what it includes—highlighting how important Radio Free Asia (RFA) is as one of the few media organizations covering human rights issues in Tibet. A thorough report would give a clear picture of China’s oppressive actions, but this shortened version misses much of that context. With less factual and complete reporting, China can more easily justify its wrongdoings. Therefore, ICT urges the State Department to bring back the more detailed structure of the Human Rights Report to support advocacy efforts and hold the Chinese government accountable for its abuses.
- Lord, we pray for increased awareness and advocacy around the human rights abuses in Tibet. Ask that organizations and individuals will be moved to speak out against injustice and advocate for the rights of the Tibetan people (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 31:9).
- Lord, we pray that the truth of the situation in Tibet will be revealed and acknowledged, leading to justice and accountability for the actions of those responsible for human rights abuses. Pray that governments and international bodies will take a stand against oppression (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 1:17).
