CHINA: Since July, over 7,000 cases of a virus spread by mosquitoes have been reported in Guangdong province, China. This situation has led to actions similar to those during the Covid-19 pandemic. In Foshan City, the area most affected, patients with chikungunya must remain in the hospital. Their beds are covered with mosquito nets for protection. They can only leave the hospital after they test negative or after staying for a week. The virus spreads through mosquito bites and causes fever and severe joint pain that can last for years, but it is generally not deadly.
- Lord, we pray for Your divine healing over those affected by the chikungunya virus in Guangdong province. May You restore their health quickly and alleviate their suffering. Protect the wider community from further spread of this virus and guide the healthcare workers in their efforts to contain it (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 53:5).

Grant them discernment in implementing effective measures to protect the population and manage healthcare resources.
