Senate President Hun Sen urged the United States to closely monitor Thailand’s erection of barbed wire along the Cambodia-Thailand border, calling it a violation of the July 28, 2025 ceasefire agreement. Speaking with U.S. Charged Affaires Bridgette L. Walker, Hun Sen emphasized Cambodia’s commitment to peace and restraint, while seeking restored border relations with Thailand. Walker reaffirmed U.S. support, praised Cambodia’s restraint, and expressed backing for an ASEAN observer group to help monitor the ceasefire. The meeting also highlighted the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Cambodia diplomatic relations.

Abba Father, we ask for Your peace to reign over Cambodia and Thailand, removing all barriers of conflict and restoring trust. Lord, grant wisdom and patience to leaders in Cambodia, Thailand, and the U.S. so they may act with justice and fairness (The holy Bible, Psalm 133:1).

Lord, we pray for ASEAN and all partners working toward peace. Let unity and cooperation overcome division (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 11:14).
