Brunei celebrated the 79th birthday of its royal leader, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, with a grand parade on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The event was held at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Park in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. Many people, including state leaders, officials, and citizens, gathered to watch the celebration. Members of the Royal Brunei Land Force, Navy, Air Force, Police, and other government groups took part in the parade. The Sultan inspected the participants during the ceremony. After the parade, state honors and decorations were given at the royal palace, Istana Nurul Iman. Traditional clothes, gun salutes, and large crowds made the day festive and respectful. Brunei, a small and oil-rich country in Southeast Asia, marks the royal birthday each year with national pride and public events, while the celebration of CHRISTmas is strictly restricted.
