Cambodia has threatened to stop importing fruit and vegetables from Thailand if border restrictions are not lifted within 24 hours. This comes after a deadly clash between soldiers from both countries in a disputed border area called the Emerald Triangle. A Cambodian soldier was killed during the fight. Both armies said they acted in self-defense and agreed to move soldiers to avoid more fighting, but tensions remain high. Cambodia has also stopped buying Thai electricity and asked TV stations not to show Thai films. The border dispute dates back to French colonial times and involves ancient temples claimed by both sides. Cambodia asked the International Court of Justice to help resolve the conflict, but Thailand prefers to solve it directly. Both countries will meet again in September to discuss the border issues.

Pray for divine counsel and unity between the authorities of Thailand and Cambodia to find a peaceful solution to end the border issues. Pray for justice and peace to prevail in the region (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 11:14).

Pray for peaceful and friendly relations between Thailand and Cambodia. Pray for the LORD’s healing power upon both nations to end the protracted border disputes (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 33:6).
