MONGOLIA: In July 2025, there were 43 fatalities from water-related accidents in Mongolia, with 14 of the victims being children. The increase in deaths is linked not only to natural dangers but also to human carelessness, especially a lack of supervision and awareness. Many incidents happened near lakes, rivers, and ponds, particularly where children were left alone. Recent heavy rains and unstable weather have caused water levels to rise sharply, raising the chances of flooding and drowning. Officials are advising people to check weather forecasts before they travel, avoid crossing or swimming in fast-moving rivers, stay away from alcohol when near water, closely supervise children, and keep them away from water sources.

  • Lord, we pray for those in Mongolia who are at risk of water-related accidents. We pray for your divine protection over families, especially children, and ask that you grant them wisdom to stay safe in and around water (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:7).
  • Lord, we pray for increased awareness and responsibility among the community regarding water safety. May they heed warnings and take necessary precautions to prevent tragedies and protect the vulnerable, especially the children (The Holy Bible, Hosea 4:6).
