Pray for Christians living in Qatar
Many of Qatar’s Christians are expatriates who live and work beside people who have never heard the Gospel. Pray that Christian Believers would be known for their character, kindness, and integrity.
Father, give Christian Believers in Qatar courage to live faithfully and wisdom to recognize the moments when a conversation about Jesus Christ is possible.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
Colossians 4:6
Pray for workers far from home
Construction workers, nurses, engineers, domestic workers, restaurant staff, and students have come to Qatar from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Africa, and across the Middle East. Many live far from their families.
God of every nation, bless those working far from home. Protect them from exploitation and loneliness, and give Christians opportunities to serve them with dignity and compassion.
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.
Psalm 90:17
Pray for sign-language ministry
For someone who is Deaf, a church somewhere in the city does not mean access to the Gospel. A spoken sermon, a printed Bible, or a Christian broadcast is not automatically accessible.
Father, give Your Church creativity and understanding. Raise up people who can communicate biblical truth through sign language and develop truly accessible resources.
Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.
Psalm 119:73
Pray for Gospel access, not merely Gospel presence
A person can work beside a Christian for years without ever having a meaningful conversation about Jesus Christ. Pray that the Gospel would move beyond buildings and programs into homes, workplaces, and friendships.
Lord, let people in Qatar truly hear. Prepare hearts to receive Your Word and bear lasting fruit.
But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.
Luke 8:15
Capital: Doha
Official language: Arabic
Widely used languages: English and many migrant-community languages
Dominant religion: Islam
Qatar is a nation transformed by rapid growth. A relatively small population of citizens lives alongside a much larger community of people who have come from around the world for work, business, and opportunity. Some families have lived there for generations; others are there for a few years of employment.
Within a single city, people carry languages, traditions, and religious identities from across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Doha can appear almost entirely modern, with its skyscrapers, hotels, universities, and construction sites, but behind the skyline are millions of individual stories. Among the communities living in Qatar:
Qatari Arabs
The citizens of Qatar, for whom Islam shapes much of public and family life.
Palestinian Arabs
About 380,000 people, primarily speaking Levantine Arabic and predominantly Sunni Muslim.
Lebanese Arabs
About 295,000 people, primarily speaking Levantine Arabic and predominantly Sunni Muslim.
Southern Baloch
About 56,500 people who speak Southern Balochi and are predominantly Sunni Muslim.
Tamil Muslims
About 28,500 people, among whom fewer than 2% are evangelical Christians.
Deaf Qataris
About 23,500 people who use Qatari Unified Sign Language.
Migrant workers
Large communities from South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the wider Middle East, many living in Qatar for a limited season of work.
Several of Qatar’s communities are unreached, and some are easy to overlook precisely because they live in the middle of a modern, highly connected city. Field data classifies the Palestinian Arabs, Lebanese Arabs, Southern Baloch, and Deaf Qataris as unengaged and unreached, with no known effort under way to bring them the Gospel.
The mission field is fragmented. Qatar’s population is divided among many cultures and languages, and a ministry that reaches one group may have little connection with another.
Much of the migration is temporary, so relationships may have only a short window in which to grow. Yet that season can become a profound opportunity: a person who hears about Jesus Christ in Qatar may one day carry that message home.
For someone from a Muslim background, exploring Jesus Christ raises questions of family, identity, and belonging.
Language matters too. Arabic is central to Qatari society, but expatriate communities speak dozens of other languages, and the Gospel needs to be understood not merely by the ear but by the heart.
The Deaf Qatari community shows that unreached people are not always defined by ethnicity or geography. Sometimes a whole community is overlooked because of the way it communicates. No evangelical church or resource is known to serve them.
The question is not simply whether there is a church in Qatar, but whether each person can actually hear.
Pray for the Deaf Qatari community
Pray for the 23,500 Deaf Qataris who have no known evangelical church or resource in their language.
Lord Jesus, remember the Deaf Qatari community. Raise up Christian Believers who understand their language and culture, and provide accessible Scripture, teaching, and genuine friendships.
He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.
Mark 7:37
Pray for Qatari families
Pray for Qatari families to have freedom to ask deep questions, and for wise, gracious Christians who can explain the Gospel without hostility or pressure.
Lord, guide Qatari families into truth.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Psalm 25:5
Pray for Palestinian families
Pray for Palestinian families living in Qatar, many carrying difficult memories and uncertainty.
Father, bring comfort to Palestinian families, and give them opportunities to encounter the hope found in Jesus Christ.
They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.
Psalm 34:5
Pray for Lebanese families
Pray for Lebanese families in Qatar, especially those carrying anxiety about loved ones and the future.
Lord, bring Your peace into Lebanese homes and friendships, and draw them toward the One who offers lasting peace.
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Isaiah 26:3
Pray for the Southern Baloch
Pray for the Southern Baloch, among whom there is no known effort to share the Gospel.
Father, make a way for the Gospel among the Southern Baloch. Provide relationships, Scripture, and Christian witnesses who will share Jesus Christ with patience and respect.
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
Psalm 18:30
Pray for Tamil-speaking Muslims
Pray for Tamil Muslim families in Qatar, and for Tamil-speaking Christian Believers who can share the Gospel with them naturally.
Lord Jesus, let Your light reach Tamil-speaking Muslims in Qatar, and give Christian Believers wisdom to build genuine friendships.
I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.
Isaiah 49:6
Heavenly Father,
We bring Qatar before You. We pray for the families who call Qatar home and for those who have arrived from distant nations: workers, professionals, students, and children. We pray especially for those with little access to the Gospel.
Remember the Deaf Qatari community, and provide a Christian witness that communicates in their language. Remember the Southern Baloch, the Palestinian and Lebanese families, the Tamil-speaking Muslims, and every person whose spiritual hunger is known only to You.
Give Your Church eyes to see people who are easily overlooked. Give Christian Believers courage to build friendships, ministries wisdom to develop accessible Scripture, and Christian workers patience for relationships that may take years to bear fruit. Let the Gospel become understandable to those who have never truly encountered it, and prepare hearts by Your Holy Spirit before the first word is spoken.
May the skyline of Doha one day represent more than human achievement. May it become a place where people from many nations encounter the living Jesus Christ.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
