Yemen’s economy is facing serious problems in 2025. The ongoing blockade on oil exports, high inflation, and reduced foreign aid have made life harder for many people. The World Bank says real GDP is expected to fall by 1.5 percent, which will increase food insecurity. In areas controlled by the internationally recognized government, food prices are very high, and many families struggle to buy basic goods. The Yemeni rial fell sharply but recovered slightly after stabilization measures. Government revenues are down, causing delays in salaries and cuts to public services. In Houthi-controlled areas, airstrikes and a lack of money have reduced imports and access to essential goods. International aid is at its lowest level in more than ten years, and many families face hunger, with over 60 percent reporting inadequate food. Experts say Yemen needs stronger institutions, better financing, and progress toward peace to help the economy recover. Without peace and reforms, economic stability will remain very uncertain.

Pray for political stability in Yemen. Pray for one internationally recognized government for the whole nation. Pray against the political divisions that hinder the country’s growth and progress (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 1:19).

Pray for economic growth and food security in Yemen. Pray for divine provision of food, clean drinking water, shelter, and other basic needs and rights for all the Yemeni families. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).
