Fuel prices in Vietnam have increased again, even though the government is trying to control them. The Ministry of Industry and Trade said gasoline prices rose by about 7.66%, while diesel prices increased by around 1.6%. However, kerosene prices dropped by about 7.7%. To reduce the impact of rising global oil prices, the government used money from its Fuel Price Stabilisation Fund. This fund is designed to help control sudden changes in fuel prices. The government released about 4,000 dong per liter for gasoline and kerosene and 5,000 dong per liter for diesel. Fuel prices have been rising mainly because of global energy disruptions linked to the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran. Since the conflict began, gasoline prices in Vietnam have increased by about 44%, diesel by 59%, and kerosene by 66%. The government has also encouraged companies to allow employees to work from home to reduce fuel consumption and limit the effect of higher energy costs on the economy.
