Vietnam has seen a sharp rise in fuel prices after the government increased petrol and diesel costs due to global supply fears. Petrol prices went up by more than 20 percent, while diesel rose by nearly 34 percent in one step. Since the conflict began in late February, fuel prices have increased greatly, making life harder for many people. The government said the rise is linked to tensions in the Middle East and issues in the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked other countries for fuel support. Many citizens are struggling with the higher costs, and some are using public transport instead. Other countries like Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand are also facing rising fuel prices, affecting travel, schools, and daily life across the region.
Pray for the success of the authorities’ efforts to combat the fuel crisis in Vietnam and in Southeast Asian nations. Pray for wise counsel to help them manage resources effectively (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).
Pray for an immediate and peaceful resolution to the war that is contributing to the global energy crisis. Pray for economic stability in Vietnam and in the region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
