UAE-Backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) says it now has full control over most of southern Yemen after expanding its forces across the region. It claims this step brings security and order and that it is ready to manage the south as a united area. The internationally recognized government disagrees with this claim and says the council has no right to take control on its own. Government leaders warn that such moves break the agreements that were supposed to guide cooperation between the different groups. They also say the actions of the council weaken national institutions and increase tension at a time when the country still faces conflict with the group that controls the north. Because of these opposing positions, Yemen remains divided. In the north, one group holds the capital, while in the south, the council has strong influence. The recognized government still exists, but its authority is limited. The situation creates uncertainty about the future of the country.

In the Mighty and Marvelous Name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, we say to the nation of Yemen and its people, ‘Live!’ Amen (The Holy Bible, Ezekiel 16:6).

Sovereign LORD, we plead for political stability in Yemen. LORD, have Mercy on the innocent civilians and raise a banner for Your Creations who are facing uncertainty and constant fear in their homeland. Bless them with hope and a bright future (The Holy Bible, Psalm 60:4).
