On 30 December 2025, Thailand amended its laws to protect people from sexual harassment, including online sexual harassment. In this regard, a new amendment to the Penal Code has been introduced, which considers sexual harassment to be unwanted words, gestures, stalking, and messages. This law protects all genders, but the focus is on women and girls, as they are more likely to be affected. This law is a major move to modernize legal provisions to deal with new forms of technology-based sexual harassment, such as abusive messages and content that spreads quickly online. For the support of victims, a new “take it down” provision has been introduced, which allows victims to request that the court remove online content quickly without the need to wait for police investigations. This request can be made online, and the court will hear the case only in person. Experts have highlighted that without proper laws and provisions, online harassment is a major problem that can affect a person’s life, damaging their reputation and future.

LORD, we pray that Your Angels encamp around the vulnerable people, especially women and girls, in Thailand and deliver them from all evil (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:7).

Pray for the immediate implementation and effective enforcement of stringent laws to combat sexual abuses and harassment both online and offline in Thailand.  (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 11:14).
