In Sipitang, the local Umno leaders are unhappy because Barisan Nasional (BN) was not allowed to choose its own candidate for the Sindumin state seat. Instead, Pakatan Harapan (PH) chose Yamani Hafez Musa to run there. Because of this, Umno Sipitang said they will not support the PH candidate and will shut down all their operation rooms in Sindumin. They said their party rules do not allow them to help someone who left Umno. Instead, they will support the Umno candidate running in nearby Lumadan.
