Human trafficking is a serious and ongoing problem in Vietnam, mainly affecting women, children, and ethnic minorities from poor and remote areas. Many victims are trafficked to nearby countries such as China, Thailand, and South Korea, where they face forced labor, sexual exploitation, or forced marriage. Due to lack of stringent laws and a lack of protection policies for the targeted groups, it has become even more challenging to control the problem. In this regard, the Vietnamese government has strengthened their approaches at the national and regional levels. The countries in the Mekong region, including Vietnam, have together strengthened approaches to combat human trafficking. The Vietnamese Government has emphasized the need to focus on vulnerable groups targeted by human trafficking and the need to create greater awareness, particularly for online human trafficking. By using technology and improving approaches to combat human trafficking, the Vietnamese Government seeks to create greater safety and greater stability for the Mekong Region.
Pray for the lawmakers in Vietnam and its neighboring countries to come up with more stringent laws to curb the human trafficking activities in the region. Pray for peaceful cooperation between the countries to fight human trafficking more effectively (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 15:22).
Pray for divine protection upon vulnerable people in Vietnam and its neighboring countries. Pray for strict action against corruption among officials in the country, which makes law enforcement less effective (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 33:27).
