Christians in Syria are facing a deep crisis as the Church struggles to survive after years of war and instability. Archbishop Jacques Mourad of Homs said that the Church is “dying,” with many Christians leaving the country to find safety and a better life. Before the war, more than two million Christians lived in Syria, but now only a few hundred thousand remain. The archbishop explained that the main reasons for this exodus are the country’s political chaos, economic collapse, and continuing violence. Even after the fall of the Assad regime, people still face fear, injustice, and uncertainty under the new leadership. Despite the suffering, the Church continues to bring hope, encouraging people to stay united and take part in rebuilding a peaceful and fair Syria.
Archbishop Mourad urged the world to help stop the violence and support justice for all Syrians.
Pray for political and economic stability in Syria. Pray for the Holy Spirit of God to raise many Ezras and Nehemiahs among the Syrian believers to rebuild the nation and Christianity in the country. (The Holy Bible, Nehemiah 1:3-11).
Pray for the LORD to bless the Syrians, especially the believers, with hope and a bright future in their homeland. Pray for divine protection upon the believers and other religious minorities. (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 23:18).
