A recent report by the United Nations Human Rights Office says that more than 6,000 people were killed in just three days when Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) captured the city of El-Fasher in Darfur last year. Witnesses described terrible scenes, with civilians shot while hiding in buildings and many bodies left in the streets. The report says there were mass killings, torture, sexual violence, and abductions, which may be war crimes or crimes against humanity. Sudan has been in a brutal power struggle between the army and the RSF for almost three years, killing hundreds of thousands and forcing millions to flee their homes. Both sides have been accused of serious abuses. The United States and Human Rights Watch say the RSF committed genocide in Darfur, but recent UN reports have not used that word. International pressure is growing to stop the violence and hold those responsible accountable.

Pray that the perpetrators behind this bloodstained war in Sudan are quickly brought to justice. Pray for justice and peace to prevail in Sudan (The Holy Bible, Psalm 84:2).

Almighty GOD, we cry out for Your divine intervention in Sudan to end the violence and to bring peace and justice. Father, shield the innocent Sudanese people from harm and evil-doers (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:12).
