At least 33 people were killed after a drone attack hit two busy markets in West Kordofan in Sudan. The strikes targeted the towns of Abu Zabad and Wad Banda, which are about 15 kilometres apart. A doctor at Abu Zabad hospital said two drones struck the markets on 7th March, killing many civilians and injuring at least 59 others. Around 30 wounded people are still receiving treatment at the hospital, one of the few medical facilities still working in the area. Residents said many of the victims were traders and workers who were at the market during the attack. One resident, Hamad Abdullah, said he helped bury 20 people, including four of his relatives who worked at the market. The fighting is part of the ongoing war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Both sides have denied targeting civilians, but they have been widely accused of attacks that harm ordinary people during the conflict that began in 2023.

Almighty GOD, we cry out for Your divine intervention in Sudan to end the violence and to bring peace and justice. Father, shield the innocent civilians living in the country from harm and evil-doers (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:12).

Pray for the international authorities to take immediate action to end the violence and bring accountability to those committing war crimes in Sudan. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 37:6).
