In 2025, Brunei stayed stable under its long-time ruler, with no major political change. The government focused on small reforms instead of big changes. In the economic sector of the country, the economy has slowed down due to lower oil and gas prices and production disruptions. As the country is dependent on oil and gas resources, the economy is being affected. In contrast, other sectors of the economy are not contributing enough to balance the economy. The prices of oil and gas have slightly decreased in the country. This has been possible because of the subsidies and the fixed currency value. In the current year, 2026, the economy of the country is likely to improve if the production of gas is increased in the country. However, the diversification of the economy is the major challenge for the country.

Pray for the success of all the government’s efforts to diversify the economy in Brunei. Pray for wise counsel for the authorities to come up with new and effective diversification strategies (The Holy Bible, Psalm 118:25).

Pray for the end of economic dependency on the oil sector in Brunei. Pray for the authorities to work for the development of all sectors equally (The Holy Bible, Job 12:13).
